We currently serve Dark Woods Coffee at The Anchor.

With a reputation for excellent speciality grade coffees (which have cleaner more distinctive flavours than cheaper commercial coffees), the roastery won more Great Taste Awards than any other coffee company in 2019. You should definitely come and try a cup!

We make changes to our menu on a seasonal basis, but our staples are always coffee, bagels, soups and cakes.

Coffee
We serve all the usual speciality coffees like Long Blacks, Piccolos and Flat Whites, do try our Cuban or Dirty Chai if you want something new!

Bagels
We have a variety of bagels that can be toasted, filled and topped with all manner of treats. And yes, we have gluten free and vegan options too.

Soups
We have fresh homemade soups available from midday everyday. Gluten free and vegan options always.

Cakes
Our fresh cakes, pastries, traybakes and brownies are from Trove and on display at the bar. We also have Doisy and Dam chocolate and savoury snacks to keep you going.

The Anchor Coffee House is brought to life by our trusted team of volunteers and we’re always looking for people to join our team.

If you would like to support what we do here and receive professional barista training then contact us through this site or ask at the bar next time you are in.

We donate the contents of our tip jar to Barnabus, an amazing charity working in our city to provide a lifeline for the homeless.

Also, when you are buying food or coffee you can add a suspended coffee to your order for an extra £2. That money will be spent on providing coffee, food and more through the projects we run to serve the wider community.
